Strawberry Oat Bars ❤ Recipe



Happy February, all!  Today I have for you a delicious, Valentine-themed treat.  This is a recipe that my mom has made for us since I was little.  It is sooooo delicious.  I think the strawberry jam makes it very festive for Valentine's Day.  If you're not into strawberries, you can substitute any jam you like.  We are going to make this again soon, but with apricot jam, drool.

Ingredients:

1 cup White Flour
1 Cup Rolled Oats
1/2 Cup packed Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Margarine
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
1/8 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
3/4 Cup Strawberry Jam

Directions:

Mix all of the ingredients together (except the jam), cut the margarine in until it makes pea sized crumbs.  Press two cups of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 8 in. by 8 in. pan.  Spread the jam evenly across the bottom, staying 1/4 inches from the edge.  Sprinkle the remaining crumbs on the top, press gently into the jam.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Let cool before you cut!



This is a very easy, and tasty dessert that would suit any occasion!  I would like to note that I typed almost this entire post with a cat sitting in front of my monitor, so there's that.
