January Favourites {2015}

I can't believe that January is already over!  Only 11 months until Christmas (LOL)!  I heard someone say that January is the most depressing month of the year, and I would agree.  Although, my Mom was born in January, so, it isn't all bad (love you, Mom!).  Here are the things I was loving in January!

MAKE UP FOR EVER - Mat Velvet+ (Sephora)

This foundation is an absolute must-have for pale ladies.  I went to each foundation in the drugstore and could not find anything that was light enough for my skin.  They always give me that weird orange tinge.  This foundation is perfect when mixed 50/50 with my Almay, or Covergirl foundations because it makes them the perfect colour.  It is too light for me to wear on its own, but when mixed it is an exact colour match.  It is pricey, however, so make it last by mixing it with a more affordable drugstore option.

NARS Virtual Domination Cheek Palette (Sephora)

I resisted getting this for the longest time because I was trying to save money before the Christmas shopping started.  I am proud to say that I did resist... until I got a Sephora gift card from my brother for Christmas.  I think I ordered it on my phone while sitting in front of the Christmas tree.  It is AMAZEBALLS.  I only own one NARS blush (Sin), and I have been impressed by the quality. These blushes blend so beautifully, and the colours are just stunning.  I oggled many google images of this palette in the months before I took the plunge.  These colours are going to be spot-on for Spring.

NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm (Shoppers Drugmart)

This has been one of my Accutane essentials.  My lips have been pretty thirsty over the last five months, so I have been applying this every night before bed.  I had heard Essiebutton talk about this balm a few times, and decided to splurge when I first started on Accutane.  I am happy to say that my lips have not cracked at all, which is one of the most common side effects of Accutane.  I think this lip balm has definitely helped.  It is pretty thick, and a bit of a granular feel, but it is still awesome, and nourishing.

ELIZABETH and JAMES Nirvana White (Sephora)

I think I got this a few months ago with my Sephora reward points.  I had heard many beauty gurus talk about this, and thought it was worth a try.  At first, I thought it was too strong, and I did not like it.  However, after awhile I started to really like the scent.  The notes in it are peony, and musk.  It is hella sexy.

Sephora Instant Nail Polish Remover for Glitter (Sephora)

This shiz works.  It will take normal polish off in less than 5 seconds, and glitter off in 15 seconds. You soak your nail on the sponge inside, and then rub it against the textured sponge, and BAM, glitter is gone.  No more getting hand-cramps trying to remove it with a cotton pad.  This is absolute Holy Grail!

HDE 360-Degree Rotating Leather Case Stand Cover for iPad Mini (Amazon Canada)

My new iPad mini case!  It is gold crocodile.  I have had this weird thing for gold, black, and white this year.  I just think it is so pretty, and classic.  These cases are really excellent, I paid $10 for it, and then about $5 for shipping.  They are very sturdy and stand up well.  They come in lots of gorgeous colours and patterns.

Salt Water Taffy (Superstore)

I have probably eaten 300 pieces of salt water taffy already this year.  Okay, that's an exaggeration, but I have eaten a lot.  It truly is an underrated candy.  It is better than chocolate (not in taste, but in practicality) because it takes awhile to eat, and you can only eat so many before you are too physically exhausted to chew anymore.  My favourite flavours are cinnamon, peach, and peppermint. The worst ones are black licorice (EW), and pear.

I hope everyone is having a good start to their year!  I am so excited for February, I love Valentine's day (also Galentine's day).
