Review: The Body Shop's Colour Crush Shine Lipsticks

Left - 14 - Magenta Be Rouge  Right - 15 - Fuchsia Flirt

Today I am reviewing The Body Shop's new Colour Crush Shine lipsticks.  The two shades I picked up are number 14, Magenta Be Rouge (Left), and number 15, Fuchsia Flirt (Right).

I purchased Fuchsia Flirt first, after seeing Essiebutton review number 18, Sunset Romance, which is a coral shade.  Based on her review, I knew that I wanted to try one of these, but wanted to go for something more pinky, as I do not think that coral shades are the most flattering with my skin tone.  Fuchsia Flirt really caught my eye because it is this gorgeous bright pink shade that just SCREAMS summer for me.  After wearing this a few times, I knew that I was going to need more of these in my life.  They apply so smoothly, and do not go on as opaquely as you may think when viewing them in the tube.  They have a very sheer application of colour, comparable to the way your lips would look after sucking on a cherry popsicle.

I wasn't sure which shade I was going to go for next, until I saw Anna from ViviannaDoesMakeup, talk about number 14, Magenta Be Rouge, in one of her videos.  In the tube it looks like a lovely radiant orchid shade, that pinky/purply shade that I just cannot get enough of.

These lipsticks retail for $13.80 in Canada, but I have never paid full price for anything in The Body Shop, as they are constantly having sales, whether it is 40% off, or buy two get one free, etc.  I paid about $7.00 for these little beauties.  These lipsticks are perfect for summer because they are extremely comfortable to wear, and apply much like a balm, so there's very little fuss.  They still give you a stunning, bright wash of colour which is perfect for this lovely, sunny weather.

If I had to choose just one, I would say for for 14 - Magenta Be Rouge, because it is the perfect orchid shade for this time of year.

Cheers!
